1 year today

I just wanted to stop in and thank all of you here at SR for helping me along my journey through sobriety.

I achieved the one year milestone today, something I was honestly convinced would NEVER happen. It took me 10+ years of trying, falling down, and trying again to get to this point. I thought I was the "hopeless case" referred to among many.

This would have NEVER HAPPENED without the support of my recovery groups, especially the fellowship I belong to and SR. SR was a tool I dedicated myself to during the early months. It really does help and it kept me busy enough to keep my mind centered and in a positive place.

You are ALL awesome!!!! Really, I can't express what's going through my mind right now. I am just kind of in awe that I made it this far. BUT, I realize now this is a life long journey. One that will continue to teach me and lead me to good places I can't even imagine.

So many amazing things have happened to me over the past year and it all started with putting down the drugs and booze and surrounding myself with individuals who will help me stay sober.

There IS hope and miracles DO happen, we all just have to let them.

Thanks for checking back in, very inspirational! I know it has helped me a lot to hear from people who are having success in recovery.

That is awesome! Congrats on one year. It gives me hope. Todays my day one, so we could have the same sobriety date, one year apart. I am shooting for that.
