lorazepam
We can't give out medical advice here but we can share our experience. I was on lorazepam (or similar benzo's) for many years and just recently was able to finally get off of them. Ask away and I will try to help if I can.

I think general questions about Lorazepam are ok, as are our personal experiences with it. The line would be crossed if we offered or you solicited specific advice. If I'm wrong about this, I'm sure Anna or Dee will be along to set me straight.

Ok I was on lorazepam for abot 3 weeks just wondering if I can get eithdraws from them being on them a short time I stopped them 7 days ago and I got the sytoms of the withdrawals but was told I couldn't be
Hi Pam
I think that is question is medical advice under our rules- I'm certainly not qualified to answer that and I don't think anyone really is outside of a Dr or a pharmacist.
who told you you couldn't be?

Yeah I would trust your doctor over the nurse. I have nothing against nurses and have a lot of respect for them. I was married to a nurse, my sister was a nurse, and my niece recently graduated with a BS in nursing. I have never been on short term benzo therapy so I wouldn't be able to help you if I could. I would go with what the doctor said and ask him/her for a plan to get off of them if that is what your doctor wants you to do.
If this is concerning you, why not get a second opinion Pam?
There are a lot of free or low cost clinics around - if there's one in your local area you might get some medical advice there?

I would add that if you are feeling like you are having serious withdrawal symptoms and are worried about a crisis, you can always go to the ER. It sound slike you have tried to get advice from your medical providers, and are getting mixed opinions.
