I still remember day 1, January 7th like it was yesterday. It was not my first day one either. I hope it will be my last though. What I did learn is that you must always be vigilant and remember that alcoholism is never cured, only managed. I thought I was cured many times and ended up back at square one in no time.
For those struggling, it does get better. The cravings do subside, and almost dissapear eventually. SR is my main support and it works for me. I still feel like a newcomer and choose this forum as my base to always return to when need to be stay grounded. Thanks to all for the unconditional support and my best wishes to those struggling. Be well and give sobriety your all... It is worth it.

Thank you for this post, Scott. Congrats on 9 months! I am on Day 67 (but joined SR back in April) and hope to get it right this time around. It helps to hear that the cravings do go away, eventually. I am still struggling on some days, but know this sober life is so much better for me and my family. Thanks, again, for the encouragement
