Husband is drinking less

It's weird. I wonder if it has been a peer pressure thing for him over the years. He doesn't have a problem with alcohol but we usually would start drinking around 5:30.. I'd sneak sips straight from the bottle when he was in the other room or make my drinks a little stronger, and he was usually done after 2 or 3 regular drinks. Occasionally 4 but he never got drunk. Seems lately since I quit he's been either drinking only one or none at all. I'm impressed. I guess it was a social thing for him. I never worried that he had a problem but it's nice to see that me quitting is rubbing off on him. I don't think he's been actively reducing intake but it's more of a, hm... I'm drinking alone, that's no fun.

That's great! He'll be a much better support for you if he's not drinking himself.

Gerald Ford quit drinking when Betty Ford went into recovery. He said he never really enjoyed it really or cared one way or another, he just drank to go along with his wife so she wouldn't be drinking alone.

He sounds like a normie who probably drank a few cocktails to join you. When you quit he didn't need to join you anymore. Sounds like a good guy.

My normie husband too, Mama. In fact last night, out on the town, I had cranberry and lime and he had Arnold Palmers and we both feel great this morning.

You are lucky to have such a great spouse. God knows I've snuck gulps when my spouse was in the other room. In fact this was one of the first signs I had a problem. Wish you the best.
