I've had a blast of a day today.
I've filled half of the notebook with ideas.
Planned inches are covered too.
A few months ago I listened to Tim Ferris podcast with Rober Rodriguez, director of From Dusk Till Dawn.
And it just blew my mind how he incorporates creativity in his daily life.
I need to re-listen to it.
It's about 2 hours long - great way to add value to commute time or other chores.

Hi, creative people.
I am up since 5.00 and busy taking care of inches and life stuff along the way.
I've got my paycheck today and finally treated myself to the writing tool which has bee on my "I want it" list for quite a while - Scrivener software!
I've downloaded a trial version and loved it.
I am super-excited to explore it, feel like a kid with a new toy)
See you)

Hi, creatives)
Teatree - Knitting counts!
Purple - No apologies needed. Thank you for sharing.
I had some kind of "Ray Bradbury moment" today. He said "I don't need an alarm clock. My ideas wake me up. ".
So, I woke up about 4 a.m. couldn't get back to sleep. And thought "Since I am awake anyway, why not to start attacking those inches right off the bat".
And I felt just charged with energy. I think I've covered more inches today than for the previous half of the year.
And there are still some inches left!
Going to get them.
See you)

Hi!! I've been with my bf and his parents for the past few days, I'm here, thinking of you all the time. I have to say, I'm so happy this thread stays alive and you are using it to motivate and share what you are doing. It's incredibly inspiring and helpful. I like to think of myself as being positively competitive, if that makes any sense.... I am really sensitive to the environments I put myself in and my productivity often reflects the environment as well... You are helping tug me out of the mud and I'm so thankful!
Purpl, thanks for this link! It hasn't been shared here before, I don't think? This is what I've been trying to say and I think we all know that creativity is helpful in healing and growth. Awesome.
I have piled myself up with job-work AND helping out friends (gotta stop doing that arg haha), but I'm going to focus on MY inches today and hit the desk to work on a pet portrait I have been procrastinating for no good reason.
Also I just got another commission to do something I am really gonna enjoy, but it is time sensitive so I better get working.
Knitters, stitchers, writers, musicians, painters, craftspersons, artists, all of us who make things, keep up the good work!

Checking in again... spent the day compiling reference and organizing thoughts. But no pencil to paper just yet. I’m going to sit right now with my sketchbook and try to just freehand one thing. Just one sketch of one component for one piece. And I’ll do that for the next piece. And the next. And the next. One component at a time and then I will make my composition. I work in a kind of collage method. I guess my illustrations are kind of a map of my brain. Here I go.

Hi, Plenny!
Yes, your pieces are your inches!
And they add up)
I don't know what's going on, but I am up uber-early today. Going to make the most of it.

Hi, creative people.
Plenny - How did research go?
Honestly I had no wish whatsoever to do any writing today.
I just wasn't in the mood.
Then I remembered "One inch. I can do one inch".
I ended up with total 5 hours of writing.
An inch can go a long way.
Travel your inch today!
Creative vibes to everyone)

Hi all! The research was great and did put me in the mood for working on this new piece.
However my self esteem struggles have really been holding me back. I am going to just get started and focus on the "One-Inch Principle," because I think if you think about accomplishing your one inch for the day, so much more will likely come out of it! Thanks for that reminder MB!
I'm drawing crickets today and that is my one inch

Hi, Plenny.
I love crickets)
I've been battling self-doubt too recently.
Every morning I wake up and Resistance jumps into my face: "Yesterday was just a lucky strike. Today I can't come up with anything worthy".
Then I have my coffee. And say "Oh, s***t, doubt is back".
One inch.
I ended up with 5 hours of writing)
I am still doubting myself.
But who cares)
