Hey James, glad you're going back to being sober. Hope you feel better soon. This can be the last hangover you ever have to go through.

As for the feelings that trigger the drinking, I get it. I drank to try and make my feelings disappear -feelings related to childhood trauma and a lot more. Now in sobriety I realize feelings never really disappear -we'll always have feelings, always be feeling something. Recovery is about learning how to cope with those feelings, to deal with them - not make them disappear. So it's great you're getting mental health help to do exactly that. I am too. Just booked an assessment with a counselling service.

Sounds like a good plan James! It is never really a very good time to take stock of your life plan while drinking or drunk.

Oh, and I made a typo I can no longer fix. Had my kids at 35 and 39, not 25 and 39!
