Okay in one of my heavy drinking decades (my thirties), I collected magnets that made light of drinking. For example: I get totally drunk. What's your hobby? I thought they were absolutely hysterical, and if I am honest they were probably a big "fu" to anyone who would dare suggest that I drank too much. I have 17 in my hands right now and as I send this, I am throwing them in the garbage. I am 42 years old and I am finally growing up!

All the jokes we make about drinking hide some truth within. Maybe they're subconscious calls for help, who knows. I used to joke a lot about drinking, and of course everyone laughed but didn't understand that I was only kind of kidding.

I know how you feel- at 44 I'm finally starting to feel like a grown up.
