34 days
Hi, so happy to be included in your group....I have stopped drinking wine after 35 years of it....feeling so much better, but still experience difficult times in social situations. Hope this will get easier as time goes by.
Welcome Oceanlady. Today is day 34 for me as well, and I drank for 34 years. We are on similar trajectories.
You will find much support on these forums as well as opportunity to lend support to others.

Day 34 here, too, Oceanlady. Welcome to SR. You will find a great deal of support and good advice from the good people here. I know that I did. Congratulations on your sobriety. Stay strong. We are all in this together.
That's great, Oceanlady. What an accomplishment! I know how you feel - I drank for 30 yrs. Felt like a fish out of water for awhile, but so thankful to be free!
I do think the awkward feelings will get better. They did for me. I was so dependent on it to cope with everything - I had to learn to live in a new way. It was worth it. Glad to have you with us.

It's funny how many of us stopped drinking the same day. I draw strength from all of you. Peaches, you replied to my very first post on SR and it helped me during that difficult first week of not drinking.

Great job on the 34 days, The awkwardness is tough at first, I bowled with my league last weekend for the first time in 9 months and it was extremely weird but after my favorite server brought out my first coke and I started talking with everyone, the surprise to me was they were more excited to see me drinking pop rather than beer anyhow. gave me the warm fuzzies, keep it up and congrats on another 5 minutes!!

It has gotten easy for me because I know what could happen if I have that one glass of wine. I have discovered that I really do prefer remembering what I do and say in social situations...
Once again, welcome!!!
Once again, welcome!!!

So wonderful to hear from all of you! There is so much power in a team! Wondering if many of you have experienced PAWs? When I hit day 30 ,I expected to feel great, but kind of sunk for a couple of days...now I feel great again...is this a normal accurance, and should I expect more for some time?
