Strange sleep - scary!
I am probably being totally paranoid but just wondering about insomnia after a binge.
I've now woken up in the morning local time to me and am approaching 48 hours after not drinking.
I only got a few hours sleep and was really tired when I went to bed but just couldn't sleep.
I'm going to try and get a couple hours more sleep but I woke up and darted out of bed really confused and pretty much the only thing I know was that I had been in my room. I had to check the day, time etc. I was also really hot (as was my general room temperature) and had to go to the bathroom to cool down.
I'm usually pretty alert when I wake up.
Just waking up from a deep sleep in a hot room after insomnia? Not really looking for a solid medical reason. Just experience and advice?
Can't wait for this to pass!

Phew! Hope so! It was the waking up and being really disorientated for a few minutes before calming down. I've the struggle to sleep before etc.
How in any way did I think drinking was a good idea when it could result in this? Hopefully never again!

Yes, disturbed sleep, waking up startled those first few days can be a hairy ride. Congrats on taking the step into sobriety though.

Thanks! It's nearing an end too with no cravings.
Just plenty of spells of anxiety, a sense of doom and dread and the aches from drinking too much but that is coming and going. This morning I was more positive.
Tomorrow is a new day and I'm almost through today!

Hope so! I definitely feel much more tired earlier on tonight so will sleep more easily tonight I think. Just hope I don't wake up with the crazy moments.
It is usually day 3 that I start to generally feel to a bit better and might start to drink again after a big binge but this time I gave myself a bit of a scare and don't think there is much lower I could go and there's so much more to be enjoyed in the world than alcohol and I'm already at the point where I don't enjoy it but just use it.
