Day 3
I have two days under my belt and almost three. Mountain biked Monday, went for a run today. I have been hungry as hell and have been letting myself eat what I want. I feel pretty good both physically and emotionally. I am trying to put a plan in place for the next time I want to pick up. Problem is, even if I do think of something, I just trow it out the window and get drunk. Any suggestions for "trigger busters"
I used to walk my dogs anytime I wanted to drink. They got a lot of walks and I got sober.
Stay busy doing something you like. Play the tape thru to the end, remember how you'll feel if you drink. You can do this!

For me I just had to accept I was an alcoholic and that drinking had always and would always, being me to bad places...
it was inevitable - drinking = places I no longer want to be. I found triggers lost their potency after that,
If you're having trouble accepting that yourself, maybe a recovery programme could help ethos?

Great job, Ethos23!
The trigger buster most useful to me has been H.A.L.T.
Hungry
Angry
Lonely
Tired
Every time I get triggered I start there. In my case, every trigger has been caused by hunger and anger. It helps to calm me down knowing there is a solution and a way out of Trigger Town.
I hope this helps!

Wow at 3 days I could walk back and forth between my bed and the toilet to vomit. Eating was out of the question. I can't help you with triggers but I gotta say you have the detox part whipped.
