Nervous but want to stay sober

There's a women's only AA group meeting tomorrow afternoon. I went there once awhile ago. I am nervous about going back and worried I will come up with excuses not to go between now and then. But I think it would be so good for me to get some face to face support. I just want to stay sober and it would be nice to have people to call or text if I find myself tempted to drink again.
Any encouragement would be appreciated.

Hi Flying4Life. I don't have any experience with AA meetings, but I would imagine that they would be really happy to see you. Plus, you went there once before so you might even know some people. Your gut is telling you that you could use some face to face support, so follow that instinct :)

Hey Flying, I reckon there isn't a need to be nervous about an AA meeting ! I've been to many in several countries and found them all to be different in character and vibes but ALL follow the same principles of being welcoming to newcomers, being non-judgemental (and after you hear the stories, you will quickly understand why ;)) and usually very relaxed. I am quite certain they wont hold a gun to your head and say "sign this deed in blood" or "welcome to the cult" or "you must obey " :)

Think of going to the meeting as a taster. If you dont like it, walk away obligation free.

Stay strong, stay chilled, and stay sober !

I really encourage you to do something positive for your recovery.

A womens meeting sounds good Flying :)
