Pain Medication - Oxycodone
Hi all! I broke my ankle on both sides and dislocated it 7/16/13. I had surgery and was in the hospital for four days (no insurance, isn't that great..UGG). Any how, I was given the OK to start to bear weight about a week and a half ago. I'd turned down the pain killer prescription as I wasn't in a lot of pain until the past few days. After talking to the doctors and friends in the medical profession I went did get a prescription of Oxycodone. I have 38 days sober, longest I've had since I've attempted sobriety for the past 3 years and am afraid that I will become addicted to these pills. I don't even like the way they make me feel but am concerned. Anybody have experience w/ this?? Thanks!!

you had problems with alcohol yeah?
did you speak with the Dr about your addiction history at all?
Sometimes some of us have legitimate pain issues.
I always let my medicos know about my history...I have chronic pain issues but I've not had problems with addiction with the pain relief. I've never used oxy tho.
If you're concerned or you feel like it's a problem, or even that it might be - it's best to speak again with your Dr, I think
