Still sober!
So, I went to a rather nice bar downtown with an old friend from college to catch up... I was so nervous that I would get a drink and lose my 3 weeks of sobriety!
But I didn't! She had a cocktail and I had a glass of water with lemon, we had dinner and dessert, plus a great conversation. I am so proud of myself! I feel like this is what being normal is, just socializing and being myself.
I don't want to spend my life whining about not being able to drink in a safe and healthy way. I'd rather celebrate having the strength to face any situation without numbing out.
