Day 5, need some prayers

Day 5 today. I'm not worrying about drinking, I'm worried about making it through the day with my anxiety. Up at 6am as usual, had some appointments with the kid's doctors spread out today. I work a 12 hour shift this evening. Needless to say I haven't had good sleep and will be up for over 26 hours. My anxiety is always worse when I'm tired. I just want to make it through the day without a panic attack. I can't take any meds because I work in the ER and cannot compromise my ability to provide good care to patients. So if you do pray or even if you don't, just please hope I make it! Already having anxiety and an upset stomach

Because you can't take anxiety meds on the job, have you tried other, non-narcotic techniques? CBT? Breathing exercises? Mindfulness training?

I struggle with anxiety and panic attacks too. They can be devastating. I really do feel your pain and fear.

Good luck Indenial. I have anxiety and have had panic attacks too. The good news is it has gotten MUCH better the longer I am sober, but it hasn't completely gone away. Breathing helps me, and I can kind of feel it coming on too. I try to breathe and just remember that anxiety never hurt me, and I always end up feeling fine in the end anyway. Best of luck todya, I know how bad it feels but you aren't alone if that helps.

Any chance you can carve out an hour or even 45 min for a nap? I find they work wonders when sleep deprived. Good luck!

Breathing works like a treat when you do it right. You do know that don't you? How are women coached in dealing with the pain of childbirth? Breathing. Breathing and focus; you can do this, however tired you are. xx
