Bad start. Had to edit my info right off the get go. I said I've been sober since 9-9-2013. Fact of the matter is, sober Monday morning, drunk yesterday. I quit every Monday, then get drunk the upcoming Sunday. Can't seem to break the cycle. I'll post next Monday if only to be accountable to myself.

Thumbs up

Welcome domedou,

Its never about how often or how horrific we stumble around - its all about getting up and doing the right thing - and that never means taking another drink. Drinking is never the right thing to do when we are quitting drinking.

Seems so obvious, but there it is anyways - addiction ambivalence has us wanting both to quit and drink all at the same time. Tough times.

YOU can quit!

Welcome! Glad to have you here.

How to break the cycle? Just do it. Next Sunday, simply don't drink. No matter what. If you can do it once, you can do it again.

You have the control. You're not some robot being controlled by someone else, you can decide which actions to take. And the action is to stay sober.

It gets better after a while.

J.

Hey domedou,

Next week post here on cravey, jittery, AV-taking-over, s#%^ storm Sunday instead of why-the-hell-did-I-do-that Monday.......

Let us have a talk with your cravings, we will beat them up for you!

Posting here is a HUGE help. Helping someone beat down a craving is so gratifying and you will feel great with all the support.

Give it a whirl! You can always drink if you don't want to hear it, but then again, you might be very pleasantly surprised at what happens!

You can do it!
