Hope someday to be able to talk to my family about it.
Maybe they're just being polite, or suspicious and don't really want to know. At any rate, when things clear up, it won't matter anymore.

I remember this joke I heard years ago.

"Honey, whats the matter." she asks.
"Oh, I'm ashamed. I don't want the neighbors to know I had to quit drinking."
"Oh," says the misses, "well, that shouldn't be too big a problem. Come home from work three hours late, park in the front yard instead of the driveway. When you get out of the car, fall down and crawl to the front door on your hands and knees. Pound on the door and wait for me to open it. They'll think you're still drinking."

Hahaha, Johnny152, that's hilarious!

It's so funny how scared we are of outing ourselves as sober.

Considering the alternative, which is to drink myself to death, I'll happily be the sober oddball!

That joke gave me great perspective for the day!

Onward we march!

hello Tetra "from galway" and others. Thanks again for the well wishes.
Just checking in for the evening for my benefit if you know what i mean, just getting things down on the screen so i can read about the day.
Woke 3 times last night but slept well considering. Stomach much better today(not 100%). Eating well today. Very busy at work, which was good and glad i had a somewhat clear head today, unlike every other monday for the last couple of years.
Was a nice day today in dublin with the sun out which lifted my mood.
Tired this evening so hoping for a good nights sleep tonight.
Ads for bloody "arthurs day" all day on radio and news, which have not helped my cause
(for those who do not know, its a scam where you go out on thursday to support the drinks industry). Learnt today that 3 people a day die in ireland from alcohol related medical conditions(3 times more than roaddeaths)
Still feeling positive and hope you all are too.
J.

Reading this thread I wondered that too. Sometimes people know and just don't say anything. I know when i was using everyone knew they just didn't say anything. Well they knew something was wrong.

Hell yeah, I hope you stick around!

hi everyone. hope all are doing well.
Day 4 for me. Been a real rollercoaster of emotions. Very positive yesterday. Slept terriable last night, kept waking and sweating, going hot and cold. Strange dreams etc.
Busy exhausting day at work today and felt the first reel craving for alcohol this afternoon and this evening. Mood is very bad and feel really on edge.
I dont know what stopped me from buying this afternoon. Went to the atm, got the cash and just sat in my van. Weather terrible, fog bound and raining allday. This did not help i quess. Listening to some music to take my mind off things as i type.
Been reading lots of post here which i quess have inspired me. What i have learned is that most of our storys are very similar and some of the posts were like i wrote them myself.
If anybody reads this thanks, and say a prayer for us.
4 days without alcohol(by the skin of my teeth)
Hoping for a better day tomorrow.
J.
