Anxiety
Yeah probably just what's on my mind cranking it up a bit. I thought my medication had it under control now but maybe not. Or maybe because I'm worrying that the anxiety is back worse again is causing me more anxiety lol
You might think I'm slightly odd but that's ok I am, but when I get anxiety I give my mind something logistic to think about. Wacky I know bear with me, examples

Anxiety is the bread and butter of the first few days of withdrawal. And from what I understand of the kindling effect, it can get worse with each withdrawal.
Do tread carefully. That sky-high anxiety and pounding heart could also be reason to consult a doctor the next time you withdrawal.
Many doctors will prescribe a couple days worth of a benzo to help safely detox from alcohol, but they do that in one of two fashions: Very carefully, and only for a few days if they believe the patient is committed to getting sober; or they over prescribe, thinking a benzo is better than drinking and then possibly help crate a bigger issue when benzo addiction kicks in.
So glad you are still fighting the fight and posting.

There is no bottle in the sky waiting to tip over to get us drunk.
Life is up and down. When we first quit, it is mountains and valleys. As time passes, they wear down to gently rolling hills.
You're okay. Don't drink and you won't get drunk.
It gets better.
I have anxiety issues that have definately improved since I quit drinking, but are still something I have to deal with. What really helps, like others have mentioned, is deep, slow breathing. I also usually say a comforting phrase while I'm doing this, like, "I am calm and relaxed," or, "everything is fine and nothing is going to hurt me. This anxiety will pass."
Distraction is a good technique too--counting backwards by 3s, crosswords, etc.
Of course this early after quitting could be some withdrawal or post withdrawal as well. You could run it by your doctor if you haven't already.
Glad to see you on day 6!

I think it just takes time and patience in learning how to deal with anxiety. You can experiment to find what works for you. As others have said, exercise/walking is a great idea. I find music helps a lot too. Meditation is a good way to calm your mind.
You can succeed, and you WILL succeed, 13. I know it. But you need to believe it too. Once you believe this, everything else will sort itself out.
Make 24 is a very cool game. I think I should be good at it but let's just say there is room to improve.
