600 days today
Its day 600 today. I still remind myself that Im addictive to alco. Not every day, but at least once a week. I still remind myself how powerful that substance is. I have to really control my urges when old friends come and stay over.
I have found my first sober friend! She does not drink and never will because of her religion. Im so glad we are friends.
My sober journey continues...

Congrats on your 600 days!
Sober friends are a gift. I had to cut out all my old friends and now my only friends are also in recovery. I feel like I have are closer and more intimate friendships than at any point in my life. I can tell them anything without holding back. They *get* me because their brains are wired like mine. We keep each other sober. Like a real life SR!

Well 600 days ago I was miserable, sad, constantly thinking about drinking. I used to wake up and first thought was about whether or not I had enough wine in my cupboard to get drunk next day.
What has changed since then? Everything! I look younger, I feel younger too. A lot healthier young lady. I have achieved so much in 600 days.
So if you are not sure if you can do this too, try and you will see that you can!
In addition, I can visit my parents and I don't have to be ashamed and hide my addiction. I quit smoking this January, I do miss that a bit, but its an awful addiction too.
