Question Newcomer

Day 2....again or maybe it's again X3.

Striving for focus and commitment to stop drinking.
Husband is a drinker so no encouragement there.
Can I do this without his support?

will be great to know others are struggling to accomplish my goal.
Doing this alone is hard.. but hard doesn't make it impossible.

Hi, I know how you feel. Hubby is an alcoholic too, but does not want to quit. It is 82 days now, and I have no desire to join him in his drinking. Make up your mind not to take another drink, no matter what. You will be quit. No one can make you take a drink. You will have plenty of support on this site. Great people. Congratulations on 2 days. You are doing great. Hang in there. The chat room is a good place to meet the folks here, and we have meetings every Tuesday and Friday at 8 pm central. I love the chat room, and the meetings. It also helps me to go to the 24 hour thread and post that I will not drink for the next 24 hours. I won't break the promise to myself once I have made it. Anyway, welcome to SR. I am looking forward to getting to know you Blondredd. Again, congratulations on 2 days.

Welcome blondredd

We all live in a world of drinkers, and many members here have spouses or partners who drink - it brings a new level of challenge, but it's not a dealbreaker.

Solid sober support is important, and you'll find a lot of that here

Hi Blondredd.
I have seen quite a few posters in the same situation as you. It can be done. If the hubby's drinking starts to trigger you to use come here and talk it out. Welcome aboard.
