weekenders *ring ring* sept 20th 21st and 22nd 2013

Hello everyone ,
Thought i'd get the weekend thread going . It's a thread for sharing the weekend with eachother , getting through together .

People with more sober weekends can share how they get through , newbies who are wobbly can hopefully find some motivation and encouragement .

If you need full on SR style support then i'd recomend starting your own thread as crys for help and support can get lost when posted on other threads .

*ring ring* the first is a bell of mindfulness to call to you , stop wake up , the second is the liberty bell ringing out freedom from our addictions .

So lets get on with enjoying our beutiful sober freedom this weekend.

Bestwishes, m

I'm in ! Looking forward to what will hopefully be my second weekend sober. It is one day at a time though and the weekends are the toughest. I will be super mindful of how I feel and combat any cravings with all the weapons in my arsenal !

This weekend i have planned a long music session with a friend on sat .
I have been challenging myself to write a tune every day this last week , try and get the "flow" going .

I can end up with so many bits of synths and guitars and stuff & fiddling with them that i end up distracted in an enjoyable way and loosing sight of why i was doing it all to start with .

Let's get through friday first though ,

Catch ya later , m

Morning Weekenders, I'm in for a sober weekend (this is the 6th weekend for me)

We are going out tonight (hubby and I) with some friends, most of which like a drink or three - so I am being the designated driver for the evening so it wont be an issue I'm not partaking.

Tomorrow a bit of shopping then spend the afternoon with my beautiful horse who is recovering from an injury.

And Sunday having my beautiful daughter and her partner over for family dinner.

I am loving my sober weekends - now I am able to do things for myself and others rather than lying in bed with a raging hangover and headache feeling sick and ashamed and disappointed in myself.

I wish you all a happy sober weekend "ring ring"

I'll have a weekend sober too! this is my 14th weekend and I have found a hobby to fill my weekends so that I'm not sitting thinking about drinking.

I'll join you all this weekend. It's my first one and I'm feeling apprehensive. I'm working on Saturday night so that should sort of make it easier. Except that I'm a caterer and after a big job I normally drink myself stupid; the responsibility of having to get it all right really stresses me. I'll be straight on here after the function!

Here in Singapore at F1 with the Ferarri Team. Going out to a club Sunday from 1am till 4am and going to stay sober. Hitting a meeting tonight at the Sands Casino to get grounded and remind me of my disease.

Making a list of my personal inventory for step 4

Side note: watched The Intership on the plane and was laughing hysterically the whole time. Anyone that wants a good laugh/feel good meeting should check it out.

Hey lommey, its tough being alone. In the years I was living overseas from my family and friends, I almost felt crushed by the loneliness. So, the bottle became my 'friend' especially on the weekends.

Do you have any hobbies or interests ? Maybe spend some time today to plan your weekend so that you can be occupied or at least with the company of other people. My enemy was isolation which lead to depression which lead to drinking.

If you're short of ideas, then post and ask the SR folks, I am sure there are plenty of good ideas !

My suggestion: try to get an early start to the day...have you seen the dawn lately, its a very peaceful time of the day and I think is best enjoyed alone. Also, its always interesting to watch a town wake up. By getting an early start, it means that you will have an early end to the day. A long sleep is restful and good.

Take care and stay busy

I'm in. This weekend I'm away teaching a couple of classes at a weekend event. Luckily there is no bar at the venue so this evening I'll be taking my sparkling water and lime, and to accompany my meal on Saturday I'll be doing the same. I'll be busy either driving, teaching or taking part in other workshops all weekend.

And then on Monday I start a new job so it's all go.

Have a good weekend all x

Hey weekenders! I am sitting waiting the last few minutes before I go into my job interview. Sunny cool day. My mood is right.

They have me scheduled from 8 am until 3 pm with numerous people. So the day will be long and tiresome but we shall see.

Will check in later.

Ken

I'm in for my second sober weekend. Helping out with a Scuba Class tomorrow morning and planning on taking the kids for a fall hike in the afternoon. Maybe pick some apples. Normally I would stay home and drink the afternoon away, watching movies I won't remember. Excited for some new adventures! Good luck everyone and have a great sober weekend.

i'm in. i blew it last weekend and drank friday and, of course had to add saturday

felt like an absolute loser all day sunday.

but, since 8/27 - only those 2 days, but still officially only have 5 days.

thanks for all the support - w/o SR i would be struggling to string 2 days in a row.
