Day 6: Without a drink.

I have just spent the last 3 hours looking at a glass of whiskey. I told myself, that I have gone nearly a week, what if I just had a little treat on a weekend. I poured the drink and put it on the table.

I just looked at it, thinking about everything. The past 6 days clean and sober, waking up feeling good not sick and so I just stared at it. It was like a life changing decision, I eventually stood up and poured the drink down the sink.

I have since made myself a cup of Chinese Jasmine Tea and I am pretty pleased with myself. This is getting easier, especially compared to the first few days.

6 days clean and sober. Tempted but NO. Abstained.

I found it best not to test myself like that.

I got rid of all the alcohol in my house. It's still the way I prefer my house to be

I can't have alcohol in my apartment. Or I'll get drunk and then dump it. Tough on the wallet. Tougher on my body.

I've dumped at least six or seven large bottles of whiskey after getting drunk and hating myself in the past three months.

Congrats on defeating the temptation. Day 8 complete for me today... Glad you are going strong still.

After I quit for around a month I went round to all my hiding places for my whisky bottles. I was so shocked at how many there were. I'd come clean to my partner then and she helped me get rid of them all.

It was liberating.
