Hi all,
2nd day sober and very glad to have found this site.
Briefly, have been using/drinking for over 20 years. Went through a 28 day recovery program this time last year and left full of confidence and joy in my new found sobriety. 1 week later woke up having been drinking solidly for 3 days. What the hell happened?
Have been drinking pretty much constanly since and dragging my life into ever lower depths of self-pity, depression and chaos.
Went to an AA meeting last night, tried to share and only jibberish came out. I left with a little of my optimism back and hopefully this time won't be so cocky in my recovery.
Hopefully this site will prove to be a 24 hour AA meeting where I may find help and solace.
Thanks

I am glad you are here, Sparkos. Welcome to SR. I have been sober for only 21 days, which is my longest period of sobriety since ..... forever. I discovered SR 21 days ago. I think the two are not a coincidence. You will find many caring, thoughtful, knowledgeable people here. Good luck. I look forward to more posts from you.
