It's good to remember the mess

Hi all, haven't been on here for a while-things have gone great in the summer! Lovely to be free and have a free life. Back to the pressures of work and was feeling weak but just watched FLIGHT with Denzel-it was good to remember the mess alcohol makes of you and your life! And a reminder that it's that first drink that gets you drunk-really strengthened my resolve again:-)

Definitely, playing the tape all the way through is a powerful weapon to not drink. You are FANTASTIC, rootin for ya.

What a great quote-totally sums up sobriety

Glad you've had a good summer and are sounding really positive and happy

Sandgirl - I agree, it's great to be free. Why we ever thought it helped us, I can't imagine.

Hi sandgirl, I totally agree. Remembering the pain and humiliation of being drunk is what keeps me sober. Very best to you.

Flight was an awesome movie. It is definitely a harsh reminder to all of us suffering from this disease.

Thinking about the terrible places alcohol has led me is the most powerful thing in my sobriety. DONT ever want to do those things again!!

Yes, it was...I saw it last Thanksgiving Day when I was 6 months sober and it really helped get me through that first holiday season without drinking!
