Well im back
What a waste of time I am :-(
The promises to stop ,the stupid things I do , lost :-;
Another Saturday night, another night drunk ,just like last night and the one before
I give up I really do ..

I think if you've truly given up you wouldn't have posted here. Get back up and try again til you get it right. What kind of support do you have in real life? Sometimes face to face support is that extra edge we need to stay sober.
Welcome back rainy
You're not a waste of time.
Posting here shows you DO want to give up drinking. Don't be too hard on yourself.Forgive yourself the past, learn from it and make today your day 1.
It's stormy up here in Scotland. how about where you are? For me staying in spending the day on SR,eating and drinking non alco drinks helped the first few days.

Hi, Rainy.
Glad to see you back.
You are not a waste of time.
And NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP.
Come here for help anytime you feel down, low, when AV attacks you, when you can't get power to fight it. Don't hesitate to scream "help".
Please, don't be so hard on yourself. Past is gone, time to dust yourself off and move forward. Don't let regrets drag you back and down.
"When you get into a tight place and everything goes
against you, till it seems as though you could not hold
on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just
the place and time that the tide will turn.”
- Harriet Beecher Stowe
Best wishes, positive vibes, and hugs to you.

Hey Rainy ,
Don't let the motivation to quit lag , being sober is well worth it and fun , drinking sure is a waste of time , 20 years it took from me and everything i'd worked towards , stick the drink down the sink and come join our sober party
Nice to have you back
Bestwishes, m

Thank you for sharing. By sharing your own
experiences, your own strengths, and your
own hopes, before.....during.....after alcohol,
not only helps you work towards remaining
sober a day at a time, but also in doing so
helps others in recovery too.
I may be 23yrs sober which is a many one
days at a time sober, just by reading your
share helps me stay sober today and continues
to teach me lessons that alcohol, no matter
how hard we try not to give into it, is still
tempting, still lurking, so ever ready to take
another soul.
I have to be on my guard at all times wearing
my suit of armor made up of a program of
recovery, to fight off temptations to want to
drink. Each thread of my armored suit is strong
and tight so nothing can break thru it.
Stay strong, find another member to follow,
and wear your suit of armor to protect you
against the alcohol demons that will always
be around. Be ready to fight them off with
a strong recovery program in place.

Day 1 , of many .
Keep the days coming and don't let yourself into the it's the weekend , that's not bad just a treat. The big days to celebrate sober are the weekends.
I could drink for weeks on just one Friday night and one Christmas in my twenties I drank for a year.
One day at a time.
You can do this and after a time it will be so much better.
The moment happens when given the choice you will honestly choose not to pick up, you will know where it leads and see there is more joy in not.
Get the days in and start appreciating and recognising the difference in life.
John.
