If you're gonna ride it out at home, I suggest you read the Big book of AA and the "twelve and twelve" they're available on line. they will give you an idea of what you're going through and the solution and will keep you busy for a while(online search, downloading, reading)
hi stpatgirl, for some reason your post caught me. alcoholics are over thinkers, we want to contemplate everything. there is absolutely NO good reason "why" we drink the way we do, we think drinking puts us in this mindful, witty, philosopher mode - but really, it just paralyzes us from doing anything productive with our lives.
I hope you get sober, and stay sober. thanks for the honest post.

Hang in there, itsjustanother. It does get better if you can ride out these first few days. Also, take comfort in knowing that the liver is mostly on the right side, not the left. So it may just be a gastrointestinal adjustment you are experiencing. I had a lot of those issues when I quit drinking. Good luck. Stay strong.
