In a fog

Just woke up from my second nap today, and I also slept 12 hrs last night. I feel so depleted, I have turned off all of the lights and drawn the curtains.
I have the day off work thankfully, but I had really hope to be somewhat productive. Is it possible that my weekend slip up left me this drained? I remember day three being really tough and depressing in the past...

It's all tough sweetie. Sometimes though you just have to get up, brush yourself off and start all over again. (That's a line from a song isn't it? )

Pick yourself up
Take a deep breath
Dust yourself off
And start all over again

Nothing's impossible, I have found
For when my chin is on the ground
I pick myself up, dust myself off
And start all over again

I've been trying to listen to my body this past week. She told me she's really tired after all my shenanigans.

Bodies don't have any evil intentions. So, if that's what she wants...I'm good with that. I slept nine hours last night for the first time in years!

Thanks yeah it's usually my motto too. I truly felt all day that I needed rest. I read and slept the entire day away. But now I'm getting up to bake a cake for dinner, I've invited my sister over so I gotta brush myself off! I finally feel like I can get dressed.
SO unmotivated!

Par for the course Plenny. Here's a suggestion. Don't fight it and sleep as much and as often as your body is telling you and do the bare minimum of everything else for a few days. What's to lose!? Don't worry about it is the main thing!

Yeah it's best to just do what the old girl wants, really. She doesn't usually insist that I sleep all day but that's what she wanted today!

Plenny - I definitely was exhausted from all I'd put myself through (emotionally & physically). It takes a while to heal, but you sound better already. No way would I want to be baking a cake right now & I'm stone cold sober & well rested.

Glad you posted about your feelings. I think you're doing great.

Thanks, it's true that drinking over time had drained me. But before this last weekend I had been nearly abstinent for two months. Can I really be this messed up after one binge?
