I play mind games with myself on staying sober. When I think I can't live another moment without a drink I envision myself with another person in a black hoodie (no face) with a gun to my head saying if you have one drink I will kill you. Then I don't want the drink. Weird .... huh?

It might not actually be all that far fetched. Drinking does kill a lot of people...perhaps the faceless person in the hoodie is simply alcohol. Glad it works however you interpret it though.

The faceless person may be symbolic of your confusion. (You're struggling with fully identifying either the problem, the solution, or both.) The obvious confusion here is about whether or not to drink. Yet there may also be other parts of your life about which you are ambivalent, undecided or uncertain. This may include another person or persons who confuse you or about whom you have doubts and concerns.

Not weird at all. As I've mentioned before in another post, when I hear that AV telling me it's time to drink or time to dose again I say out loud "GET OUT OF MY HEAD YOU'RE NOT WELCOME HERE". I do however glance around first just to make sure nobody is within ear shot
