Woke up feel not right, more then just hung over but light headed then ended up on the floor having a seizure....I am so sick, has anyone been through this, I had 3 pints yesterday but having been drinking since Memorial Day...what do they do, is there anything they can do or do I just wait this out in my bed?

yes, please call an ambulance or find a way to the ER. I used to get super light-headed, even passed out once after a night of drinking (ended up with 100+ stitches in my forehead/eyebrow)

Supervised detox may be what you need. Seizures are potentially life threatening, what if you have another? There are some mild drugs they can give you that can help with side affects.

You NEED to get off the Internet and get on the phone for a medic transport STAT. You can have multiple seizures that first one could just be a warning signal. The subsequent ones can take you OUT. Don't worry about what the hospital will or will not do you need to get here now. Like 10 minutes ago now!

Hope you're on the way to the hospital. Seizures are serious and doing nothing or "waiting" them out can be life threatening.

Well I was very scared after reading all your updates, threw on whatever and sure I smell about as good as I look,...anyway, called the ER on the way and told them the situation, they asked if I had seizures in the past, I told them 3-4 in my lifetime but that I had been drinking for several days,...they asked if I hit my head, I told them it was on carpet ...they just said if I wasn't feeling good, I could come in and they could draw some blood but were very relaxed about it, I got half way there and was feeling a lot better with the fresh air and just turned around and came home...going to take a shower and go to class, I meet with my psyc at 5:30....just called, thanks again for all the concern but think Im going to be ok, was just really scared when it happened.....

I'm worried about you...you could have more seizures, MN. What if you have one while you're driving? You could harm others as well as yourself. I can't believe the E.R. was so cavalier about a condition that could actually kill you. Please have somebody drive you in to the hospital.

I am ok...thank you...I am eating eggs and a protein drink and going to take a shower and get to class then meet with Psyc later this afternoon...I am ok...Thank You....I called and I explained everything exactly how it happened and they were not too concerned so think I just was scared and it was early in the AM and this is the first place I went when it happened...I will be ok....

MN8 - We can't give out med advice on here and I've been away for a few days, so didn't see any posts from anyone.
As a nurse... I know not ALL rashes are eczema... and not all seizures are alcohol related mate. No harm in getting yourself checked out. It's SO easy to assume 'alcohol is the cause', but what harm would it do to get checked out huh? an hour? ... come on
