Old friends..

Today at the store I saw some old friends of mine. They are still in the same head space as when I said goodbye. I shouldn't call them friends more of just using buddies since freshman year of high school. They were more sucked up than ever and needed to make friends with a bag of groceries, but instead they were in the parking lot of this certain store meeting our mutual friend who is selling them drugs. All I could do was wave. I was happy I saw them right when I was getting in the car to leave and that I had a family member with me. I have tried to get sober before and given in to their pressure. I am hoping in a future not so perfect meeting I will be able to walk away and not have the urge to jump ship and sink.

You are definitely doing the right thing Shane. I had to lose certain people also. Not good for me or my head.

Absolutely you're doing the right thing by walking away. What would you gain from joining them? What would you lose by joining them?

As you said they are in the same head space as when you said goodbye.... That's a great thing your not in that head space. Stay away!!! This is your time, you are writing your next chapter. You have the pen that decides how your story is told.

Congrats on walking away!
