Alright Raider...sit your arse down like a general going to war and plan your attack. What are you going to do in order to sober up? Will you seek out AA? One-on-one addictions' therapy? Cravings will hit so what will you do instead? Will you join this SR community full force and post when cravings hit? Will you read around here like a maniac and support others? Will you check out books from your local library on recovery or order some up on Amazon? Where does spirituality play into it for you? Is there a benevolent energy outside yourself you can call on?

Addiction is a formidable foe...prepare for it like the enemy it truly is..as it lives within you.

I have had many false starts. I believe it is part of the process. Try to learn from each one of them. They can make you stronger...

Thanks Lorelei, four seasons, And Resh!!!

NuuDawn, you're right. I will stay on SR sharing my cravings and offering support where I can. I won't join AA. But I am in Celebrate Recovery, which is faith based. I will read my Recovery bible and pray.

I don't want another day one.

Good to hear Raider! I am not in AA either..I find my community here at SR : ) I am also blessed with a fantastic therapist, a spiritual relationship with the divine, a couple workmates who are also sober and some great friends in this world.

So glad to meet you : )

STANDING OVATION!

Most people in recovery have had numerous "day ones". We begin the process frustrated and discouraged that we're back at the beginning, when in fact we should be congratulating ourselves for making an extremely difficult life-altering decision to face our greatest fear- ourselves.

Give yourself a break. You're committing yourself to an extremely courageous endeavor. I would say good luck, but that would be completely irrelevant. Don't give up we're rooting for you.

Plans are vital Raider - you know yourself what happens through your day better than any of us can - make plans to stay sober through all that - good plans

I'm glad you have some support, both here and elsewhere
