Need to get out of this funk..

Sorry I've been so negative lately, I've just been in a bad place.

I really do want to stop using drugs and alcohol, I just feel so lost..

I'm forcing myself to call my sponsor and go to a meeting today.

Sounds like a great plan Jake. And no need to be sorry, we've all been there. What would be sorry is if you didn't realize your plight and actually follow through on some of your negative thinking. Have a great meeting and let us know how it went.

Hey Jake ,
I sure remember life being like a pressure cooker , being dragged around like i was in a whirlpool .
I changed it by learning abouth therapy, psycology and mindfulness .. reading a whole ton of self help books , some more useful than others :0/

Change is possible and a great life is out there to be had as you get yourself sorted out :You_Rock_

Bestwishes, m

Way to be.....good job :)

Sometimes when I'm fearful of something I have to act "as if" I'm not really afraid and I know what I'm doing. At least it get's my feet walking in the right direction.

Thats a good start. The trick is to learn to recognize your addiction controlling your thoughts and emotions. Yes you feel bad now, but its not always going to be this way. Its withdrawal and your body/brain trying to level out after all the chemical use. It takes time, but I promise you wont always feel this down. Learn to recognize this as temporary and try and not put too much emphasis into your thoughts and feelings, because they are magnified and all over the place. I know when I am in withdrawal, I try and not make any big decisions because I am just not thinking clearly. Ive learned to spot this and try and limit my exposure to anything that can stress me out or cause me to make choices.
