Book : The Easy way to stop drinking

I started drinking it back in April, probably read half of it and found it interesting... started drinking again after.
Thinking of starting again, anyone else here read this book?

I read it after I stopped. It helped me stay stopped.

The main thing I got from it was Carr's idea of asking yourself what do you really want this drink to do for you?
is that a realistic expectation?
are there other healthier ways to get what you want?

I too read it and took a lot away from it. It gave me some very helpful pieces and tools that I utilize on my sober road.

I was initially put off of it by the title because it sounded gimmicky but I am so glad I ended up reading it. As Dee said, he gets into the thinking behind the drinking and lays it out in a way where you begin to see how very ridiculous it all is after awhile. Your thinking and the thinking of society as a whole. It also has some pretty useful facts that when put in the plain English he uses, kind of make you think, "Is this not just about the stupidest thing I could possibly be doing to my mind and my body?"

Totally worthwhile and useful book IMO.

I read it and took away from it the same as Dee. It was a nice perspective I thought. Different than the other books.

I liked it as well but I think it compares to Jason Vale's Kick the Drink Easily (even worse title) and I think Vale's book (for me) was far superior.

Read the whole book, and do what it says. Maybe it will be easier this time.

I'm reading it now. He confronts a lot of detail in terms of reasons we think we are drinking. I will probably read it again when I finish.
