I agree with Ornithology - you're here and you're posting As I've said, I had MANY 'dress rehearsals' over the past 4 years - this time it's stuck. The only failure, is when we stop trying.

Hi Raider, I absolutely agree with ZoeM. I originally joined in December 2011. Today marks 14 days and tomorrow is the start of Week 3. This is the longest I have gone... Just hang in there and keep trying.

When I first tried to get sober, I kept track of my sober time in hours. I had a lot of stops and starts.

Eventually I was able to measure my sober time in larger units of time, first days, then weeks, then months. Now I can measure it in years.

The funny thing is, I don't really keep track. I just try to stay sober every day and when I get up tomorrow I'll do it again.

For what its worth, 3 drinks would have been controlled drinking for me! I would have considered anything short of another bender as a success!!!

Keep it up! It took me umpteen tries and then finally a sober date (may 12, 2012) that's sticking!
