Day 17! Hard time sleeping....

Hi all! I am on 17 days of being booze free!! It is however with help! I broke and dislocated my ankle in two spots on 8/16...went to ER and had surgery. Since then I am staying with my Brother and his family on the couch since they don't have stairs and I can't put weight on it until 9/12. My family is very aware and understanding of my struggles, this has been great because I can't hop in the car to get a bottle of that poison!!!

Anywho, the past three nights I am feeling so anxious...like I may explode when I try to go to sleep. Right now I'm feeling it. It's like I feel like I could just shake all over or jump out of my skin. I'm great during the day, but am stressing at bed time even though I'm so tiered! I don't know what to make of it. Do you think this is a reaction to not drinking and having to basically lay around most of the day with my leg in the air...pent up energy?? Driving me nuts!:a108:

Thanks for listening!! XOXO!

Hi Truefan, first congratulations on 17 days. Yea for you! It takes time to get the sleep cycle back. I believe it is still your body detoxing. You can google PAWS post acute withdrawal symptoms. These may pop up from time to time. Try to stay busy as much as you can. Maybe crossword puzzles? Arts and crafts? :c011: Keep going. Sobriety is worth it.
