Question 6 weeks sober but its hard

Hi guys. I am now 6 weeks sober and I have been going to AA every evening. I have also balanced this with going back to work and DIY around my flat.
For the first 2 weeks I was so weak, rough and not sleeping. Picked up weeks 3 - 5 but this week has been tough.....Especially with it being the weekend.
My physical and mental health has improved as well as relationships and trust but the cravings seem to have taken off again at week 6. I am still getting support off community alcohol services once a fortnight and my worker told me week 6 and week 12 are the most likely time to relapse.
Anyone else had a similar experience around this time of getting quite intense cravings?
I am not wanting to become complacent and start thinking I can drink again.
I can never have a drink and get tipsy. If I have just one drink I loose control for days on end and do not want to go back to old ways.

I found early recovery was not always a straight linec - it often veered away, and even doubled back on itself.

I think ti's really importanrt to have faith that you're doing the right thing and things will work out - it's also important to have a support network not only to lean on, but to use as well.

Certain times can be challenging - do you know about PAWs?
PAWS | Digital Dharma

I found this technique helped me with cravings - it might help you too?

Yes, I agree. Unfortunately there are ups and downs in early recovery, but it sounds like you're already seeing a lot of benefits. Hang in there!

You're doing great so far, don't let that addictive voice ruin your progress. You don't want to go back there.

Things got tough for me around the 3 month mark. Everyone is different. I don't think there are dates or times when relapse is more likely. You know best how you are feeling and if you are finding it tough then step up the support. Go to more meetings, spend more time here, whatever you find helps you. Six weeks is an awesome achievement, well done x

try working those steps of recovery! they saved my life and I haven't really had a compulsion to drink since I worked them.

It sounds like you know the outcome of one drink. Play the tape through. It is what has kept me from drinking for the last almost eleven months.

Remember the HELL it was to get sober. You don't want to go back there.

Do you have a sponsor?
