2 Meetings yesterday and I'm really on day 2

Hi all,
I posted earlier in the week and was very certain I was going to quit - well night after night I tried and I really thought I was going to do it but I always picked up a drink.

Yesterday - I decided the only thing I hadn't tried was going to a meeting. It was nerve wracking and it took a lot of courage to go - but it worked! I went to one at 1pm and met a lady who I talked things over with over a cup of tea and she convinced me to go to one last night. Well it's certainly something else to do instead of sitting and pouring one glass after another down my gullet! It made me feel peaceful - and it worked. I'm going again tonight.

Yay! Day 2!

I'm glad you found a way to beat the cravings. Keep on doing what you're doing.

Well done Vickylou! It takes a lot of courage to get along to that first meeting. Now you have done that, all you need to do is keep an open mind and remain willing.
I don't remember much about my first meeting except that people were glad to see me and made me feel welcome (which was a new experience for me!). But, even though I didn't think it would work for me, I somehow kept going back, followed a few suggestions and my life changed. I haven't needed to drink since.

well done you.
If nothing else it provides a sober and positive objective for the day and kills some time.
If you decide to go regular as part of a recovery plan you will find a whole lot more benefit in those rooms.
Well done again.
Be safe.

I didn't manage to go today - for some reason I am SOOOO tired! I didn't sleep well yesterday and this afternoon I've just had a major slump - can hardly keep my eyes open. Is this normal in the early days?
