Day 2 AVRT Crash Course

Day two and im at work. Did some personal inventory last night and also completed a AVRT crash course. It kind of gave me the confidence to quit for good. One key point was not to say never or take it one day at a time, but to let go of it completely, to be in control. I know its not that easy but it gave me insight on how life can be sober vs drunk. I seek here for support and help staying sober for this long weekend.

Rational Recovery is a great read. Definitely imparts some serious confidence, like you say.

I also loved (albeit a cheesy title) Jason Vale's Kick the Drink Easily. It has tons of powerful, useful info for someone going the AVRT route.

Stay strong.

Both great books! I also go to AA, even though AVRT says not to, I take the best of everything I can. Still trying, 5 months, about 40 days of drinking. MUCH better than I was and I do want to stop altogether. Best of luck.

The Bullets for my Beast piece really helped me a lot.

AVRT is what helped me. Read the book, the crash course is great, but the book has a lot more that is so helpful.
I told my screaming Beast to eff off about a month ago, its still slinking around but keeps getter more pathetic and just whiny, poor sob, to hell with him

I loved both Rational Recovery (avrt in the house) and Jason Vale's Kick the Drink Easily (cheeeeezy title but such an inspiring, great read).

I think the book you are talking about is called Rational Recovery, The New Cure for Substance Addiction.
