My First Day Sober in 2 Years... I started a new thread for this new beginning. I tapered down and my last drink was last night. I went to both slimming world and my first AA meeting tonight. I'd like to say I left brimming with excitement but it's been a long weary overwhelming day (I worked also). And, I've got stomach ache, back ache and keep getting cramp in my legs. Even though I've drunk tons of water with vits and ate really well. So I'm grouchy lol I was going to start my herbal sleep aid/anti depressant tonight but I'm just too scared to put anything else in my body right now. It doesn't feel well. So I'm gonna head off to bed with sleep hypnosis and wake to day 2. :) |
congrats on your first day JDM :) D |
Congrats on day one!. Wishing you well. :) |
Congratulations! And I look forward to sharing day 2 with you tomorrow! |
Congrats on day one! Keep up the good work ;) |
You seem to be moving pretty well to me!:c011: Planning can be helpful, also tolerating and overcoming the bad stuff......... Keep coming back! |
Jack you sound like you are geared up and ready I'm excited to watch you progress! Welcome :) |
jdm... you are doing great!!!!! way to go! |
Nice! Congrats on day 1. Now I'm off to research sleep hypnosis! :) |
I am glad to hear that you got through Day 1! |
I'm in the ER for my day one. Hoping to share day 2 with you as well |
day one for me too. (I've been here numerous times though.) Trying again. Since I had been drinking quite a bit less, I hope no withdrawal symptoms. |
JDM, that's great! Give yourself a break, you're doing something that's hard and so good all at the same time. If you feel like you're doing too much back off a bit. Put those days together one at a time! :) |
Hey! Good for you! How was the meeting? Sounds like you've had an exhausting day, I can totally understand that feeling. Very proud to hear the news! Congrats! |
Great Job Jack!!!!! Go get some rest and come back here often!! There is always someone around!! |

Congratulations Jack! I'm glad you tapered yourself down and got your Day 1! And congratulations to all you other day 1 people! Life is so much better free from alcohol. |
Thanks everyone :) Sorry I ran away. I was feeling like a bear with a sore head! I tried to sleep but woke after a hour sweating :( I've just taken a bath and made a decaf milky coffee and going to try again. I drank mainly to make nighttime anxiety go away and to be able to sleep. (I was in abusive relationship which I've been out of now for 8 days! No contact - so I'm withdrawing from that as well lol) So I kinda knew night times would be tough. Not helpful that night one and I am awake after one hour but hey at least I'm sober! Will read the forum until my eyes close. Look forward to a more positive day 2! :) x |
