i turned 90 yesterday...
yesterday, i had put together 90 days of sobriety!!
i'm celebrating 91 today by going to see that new panda at the national zoo with my family...
it's been a difficult week for me. PAWS, general discomfort in my head... but i kept coming here, going to meetings, talking to my sponsor, did a crapton of journaling, rested when i needed to, stayed busy when i had to, and did my 4th and 5th last night.
today, i feel good! i'm ready to be (as dee wrote to me yesterday) 'exactly right where i am right now.'
at the end of my drinking career, i had no hope and no peace... and though every day since then hasn't been sunshine and roses, i am almost overflowing with hope and peace today.
becomming a whole and healthy person is such a brilliant journey! and i'm grateful i'm here and sober again today to keep it going.
thank you to everyone at SR... i don't have the words to express just how much you all help me.
wishing everyone some extra hope, peace and courage today...

Congratulations on 90 days ersa!
And if it makes you feel any better I had plenty of discomfort in the head while working on my 4th step. After finishing my 5th with my sponsor I felt exhausted but relieved. I wasted little time continuing on with the rest of the steps, it just keeps getting better.

Congratulations!
I cannot encourage you enough to do something extra special for yourself such as getting a massage, a facial, a manny petty, or some new clothes. From time to time its OK to pat yourself on the back and reward yourself with a "treat."
You've earned it

Hi EM, I remember your first post on here three months ago and not even looking back at it now I can see how far you've come. Three months is awesome. For me it was the turning point. Not that the next three months were perfect but by the third month I was starting to feel pretty grounded in my sobriety and able to function as a human again.
Sounds like your sponsor is taking you through the steps quickly. Mine did too. I hit the 4th and 5th around the same time. For me, it felt fantastic to get that sh!t off my chest and tell someone else. Glad AA is really working for you. It is for me too! I did Step 10 last night
Anyway, you are an inspiration, I love your posts, and I am so glad you're part of SR.
Congrats again! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend in NoVA!

Congratulations on 90
30, 60 and 90 are always rough periods. At least they were for me, especially the 60 days. I am so glad you have found peace and even though every day isn't a bed of roses, you are able to take the good and the bad and enjoy every single minute of it because no matter how bad it gets at least you are able to experience it as a healthy and whole you.
Thank you for sharing. I really really needed to hear exactly what you said today so thank you. : )

way to go on your 10th, by the way! good stuff.
i spent the day in dc... didn't get to see the baby panda, but had a blast! hot as heck, though! when is fall gonna be here?!?!
