I don't feel AA is necessarily right for me just now either Zoe, although I have looked at some other groups as back up if I hit a real low. I wasn't here the first few weeks of my sobriety, but since I've been here over the past week, I am so glad to have a little lifeline and sharing wins and struggles...we can all do it.x
Sashas, your posts today that I've seen have been so helpful too. Thank you for taking the time to share. It means a lot.

Thanks again everyone for yesterday. Just woken up and feel a lot better this morning
I had actually run out of hot choc and ice-cream yesterday and am wondering if that was part of it (was trying to cut down the sugar again)? Going to pop into town this morning and stock up on those - bank holiday here tomorrow so lonnnnnnnng weekend.
Ok, time for my first coffee of the day and a catch up around the boards x x

great stuff on getting through it. I'd go with the ice cream if it stops the cravings Zoe. I ate loads of it in the early weeks. Diets can be looked at whenyou're more comfortable and used to your sobriety. Enjoy the BH weekend. I miss them-we don't get it in Scotland

Hi Readyatlast and thanks Yes, I think I did try to cut the sugary stuff a little fast. Also, yesterday was one of those 'hot, clammy' days and a bit too close to what we all feel like when we're coming off the booze. Hoping that particular 'phobia' will pass in time, but was just a little close for comfort (if you know what I mean). Lovely cool day out there today, so am happy
You get bank hols that we don't down here, I think? Like 2nd January? Dad's a Scot and I remember getting stck up there in January (snow) and not being able to get back home for school Loved it lol x

hi Majority.. I'm fine today, thanks for asking Just back from town with 2 litres of chocolate ice-cream and a big bag of jelly sweets - I walked in and back so figure those 2 miles will balance out the calories (fingers crossed) x

Hi Sasha. I just would like to say your post is on the spot. Hopefully many will read it and get another idea of How it Works in real time. To me this forum is very helpful for new comers and old timers as well. I see a need for encouragement of pats on the back etc along with more how to not pick up. Thanks again.
