Weekend BBQ
I'm having a BBQ at my house today....unfortunately the weather is crap!!!! Most of my family and friends drink so I will have beer and wine for those who want it. As I was putting the beer on ice I didn't feel tempted at all. I'm on day 46 now and feeling pretty good about sobriety, but I know I always have to be vigilant with my sobriety and not complacent.....you never know when the AV will pop it's ugly head up. Every morning when I wake up I ask God for a sober day and every night I thank him for giving me that sober day. It has really helped with the temptation.
Congratulations on 46 SOBER days, Oldselfagain!
I'm at 158 days and the AV is still there, but is so easy to ignore.
Think I may get some BBQ for lunch today.
Like you, I am grateful and thankful to God for each sober day.

I'm in the UK too.
I think it has been about 22 years since I went to a BBQ and we had nice weather!!!!
Last night when I was in bed, the rain was so hard and came down forever.
Must be miserable if your one of the music festivals that is on this weekend in the UK.
You be kind to yourself.
Reward yourself with an extra sausage that has not rolled on the grass for you not drinking!
Happy BBQ ing! xx

Good job old self, just be careful around that cooler of beer! I have made a decision that when we have company over or host a party (which isn't all that often ) that we now provide food and. non alcoholic drinks and ask people to BYOB. And we ask them to take any leftover full bottles/cans with when they leave.

Well the weather is still crap in London but my morning is bright. Had a great time yesterday with the family and friends....lots of laughs, lots of good conversation, and most importantly no booze for me.
As long as you remember to keep this in the front of your mind, you'll be fine. I've got a good feeling about you.
