Day 9, to ER again to be sure

Hi all,

Today I woke up with heavy stomach pains, headache, nausea, diarrhea and feeling incredibly tired. It's probably nothing serious but I've always seen a lot of wisdom in the expression "Better safe than sorry".

So I'm off to the ER in a moment. I'll let you know.

James

James - I hope you get to feeling better and yes "Better safe than sorry." Keep us posted on your visit to the ER. Take care of yourself, I will be thinking of you.

Thanks Serenity.

Just got back, it's harmless. It's gastritis.

The doctor thinks that all the alcohol I used to drink had a negative effect on my stomach. And that it's still in the process of healing and adjusting. Added to that is the fact that I started to get my appetite back yesterday and ate a lot. And I took aspirin which can be bad for your stomach as well.

It should be over in a couple of days. On Monday they'r going to check my blood if the inflammation is gone. And they recommended I use acetaminophen instead of aspirin.

Nothing serious fortunately, just need to wait for it to go away.

That is great news James. So relieved for you! And yes, acetaminophen is a lot better for us than aspirin. Get plenty of rest and I hope by Monday you will be on the mend.

By the way, my liking your post was because it's not withdrawal but I'm sorry that you're going through what you are. You did a good thing by going to the ER just to be safe! Thank you for letting us know too what was going on.

I'm glad you found out what's going on and that you're doing well, except for the gastritis. Feel better!

Glad you saw someone

Gastritis isn't fun but I find I have a lot less stomach issues now I'm sober - I hope you will too James
