Sober 29 Days
Well, I haven't checked in for a while so I thought I would post a little update tonight while I was thinking about how much better my life is without alcohol. I feel like I am back to the person I used to be. My perspective on the things that are happening in my life is so much clearer and more realistic. My mind is sharper. I am kinder, more patient, more loving, and more generous because I'm not thinking about me, me, me all the time. Alcohol made me so selfish.
In the past 29 days God has given me so many blessings. I moved and began a new job. Both have been very life-giving changes although they have brought a lot of work with them. However, I'm enjoying actually working again and not fudging everything I do. I'm exhausted when I go to bed at night without needing a drink and I'm happy with what I'm doing. I take time for friends, keep up with email and writing, and spend time by myself just being as well as praying to my HP.
Life is not a chore to be done before drinking begins again - its such an energizing force when its really lived and not numbed.
I keep everyone here in my thoughts and prayers each day. I hope you are all well. Thanks for reading!
