I fell Off The Wagon, But Made A Breakthrough

I figured out that it is me who decides to drink. This may sound obvious but I've come up with a 1000 places to put blame other than on my own behaviour. It's time things changed. I wasn't pressured into it, wasn't under any stress, I wasn't depressed...I just walked into a pub with two people who were light drinkers and I ordered a drink. We all had one drink, but I was the only one who went home and downed a bottle of vodka once I got the taste for it.

It was all down to me. The problem is me.

Yep, but now you're in a better place than you were. Once you realize that you hold the key to the jail cell, you can open the lock and be free.

Yes, the problem isn't so much the alcohol, which is the symptom. The problem is with us and that's what we need to deal with in recovery.

I agree with Anna. The problem lies within us. We have to work on ourselves to get better.

All too true James!
Alcohol is inert if we don't swallow it.
Sadly we recall those bad 'good' old days in the twinkling of an eye and can crash.
There are many variations and a multitude of doors leading to the slums of Alcoville.
