Day 5 - keeping myself busy
Day 5 - keeping myself busy
Day 5 of being sober since my relapse. I woke up this morning, drank my Red Bull, smoked a cigarette, and went to my out-patient group and actually had a really productive group. Now I'm back at home and I've decided that instead of sitting in my own crap, I'm gonna get up and do stuff to keep myself busy/not bored.
Things I'll do today:
-call my sponsor
-do dishes
-take the dog for a walk
-call other recovering addicts
-possibly go to the mall
-take a nap
-do laundry
-take a walk
-meditate
-draw
-play piano
Things I'm grateful for today:
-My Family
-Narcotics Anonymous
-God
-True Friends
-multiple 2nd chances
-sunny days
-cats
-music
the list goes on and on..

Jakec, Day 5 - keeping myself busy? You are FANTASTIC. Congratulations. Jakec, I have the hardest time staying in the present moment, so recovery for me is a 1 step forward and back to go, issue, however staying busy is the thing to do. Please don't let it take you a lifetime to quit, like it did me. Rootin for ya.
You're about 10 yrs younger than I was
when I entered recovery, so 20ish is never
to young to begin living a productive, honest,
responsible life in recovery. Just think,
there will be others before and after you that
you may help just by sharing your ESH with
them of what your life was and is like before,
during and after drinking.
As time goes on one day at a time new
experiences will occur in your life and
incorporating those tools and knowledge
that you are learning and will continue
to learn about your alcohol addiction,
the promises and gifts within recovery
will come true for you.
Look at the Alcoholics Anonymous symbol
with is a triangle in a circle.
Each side of the triangle says - Unity- Service-
and Recovery. The unity of fellowship within
a program of recovery, service of sharing, helping,
caring, understanding, compassion, honest, And
recovery of following ur program each day living
it to the best of your ability without alcohol.
Learn, absorb, apply, grow and be happy.
