Hi..just joined this forum hoping tjis may help. Ive been sober for 6 years until 2011 but have been struggling for the past 2 years. I stsrted drinking almost daily since last summer. I really want to be done bevsuse I know how great sobriety csn be. Im five days without a drink snd yrying to let go of thosr crappy, self destructive feelings. I know it will get better but its still hard. Just wanted to say hi.

Hi, Tough. You sure have come to the right place. :) Congrats on making the decision—and on getting through those first five days!

I'm glad you already know it gets better. Maybe give yourself room to feel crappy for a while? It's a big change, right down to our biochemistry. I've never been lower than when I quit. But now I look back and think, Wow, that was actually a shining moment. That was when I started to turn it all around.

Congrats again—glad you found SR!
