Small Steps Make Such A Big Difference

I seem to be having a good day today and looking for ways and things to do that will fit with my new sober life.

Up until now I have only been concentrating on staying sober and getting through each day.

Today I managed to email a lady about joining a netball team lol I have not played since I was 11.

Also I took my children to the park and really enjoyed it, I can't remember the last time I ever suggested it and wanted to go, any time before I would be dragged there with my husband and the children and usually as soon as we arrive I'm waiting to leave.

Two tiny steps has made all the difference to my mood and I'm looking forward to tomorrow.

I'm happy to hear you turned things around and are spending quality time with your kids , instead of romancing the days before you quit alcohol. I missed a lot of my daughter growing up. Whats done is done , so I don't waste time regretting . No good could come from it.

What the husband does is his business. You now know what you need to do

Good for you

That was my goal in the beginning. I just needed to stay sober. Keep it simple, which it looks like you are doing and that is a good thing.

I did eventually come out of the fog and was able to start doing things I use to do. Baby steps and one day at a time.

So happy for you Dorris! You continue to inspire...and you're so right about it being the little/everyday things that start to matter. Amazing how that works when we're sober enough to want to participate in our own lives again, right?

((Hugs to you!!))

Indeed those small steps DO mean a lot! And don't short change them, they ARE important! Good for you in recognizing that and sharing. Keep it up.

Nothing like a good time at the park with the kids.
