Fortunately, I have not had to deal with any stress or hairy situations since I quit drinking. Although I am proud of my 17 days of sobriety, thinking it's been easy peazy...the real test for me will be when I face my first situation that may cause anger, depression or stress.
Get back on your horse and continue to ride on the path of sobriety! YOU CAN DO IT!

Thanx Eleni; I have been in one big hairy situation since I decided to get sober ;p Mostly brought on b\c of my drunken ways mind you. Just catching up w\ me is all ... Thanx for the encouragement ..
Take it easy Auggie, one thing at a time. You can do this, just keep it simple - get a good night's rest and take care of your meeting tomorrow, you can do that. Get up early and have a healthy breakfast, give yourself plenty of time and show up early. You can worry about the rest of the stuff later, just don't beat yourself up too bad right now or get too nervous. You're fine, you can do this. Good luck, you'll do great I'm sure.
Thanx Big, but no sleep for me; working tonight All I have time for in the morning is a 3 mile walk home & shower. Then get picked up by Ex. Get her mother; then right to meeting w\ SS. But thanx for the well wishes. Will know my "fate" by noon.
Sorry to hear of your struggles AW...I too am finding it difficult....you can do it tho, you had a lot of sober days under your belt and you can do it again ...good luck with your meeting..remember small battles each day (your advice to me a little while ago )
Cool - well, you gotta do what you gotta do. This is the "work" many of us have to put in. I'm like you, don't have a lot of outside help and not many resources - not too long ago I had to eat a cold leftover chicken drumstick for breakfast on the train before a meeting...just didn't have any other options. No money - not even in my couch cushions - no other food, no nothin'. On the plus side, I survived, got paid, and lived to fight another day. You will too.
When I over-think my situation it really gets me flustered. I found a solution that helps me when I get too stressed. I call it "going into robot mode". Level 1, shower. Accomplished. Level 2, get on subway. Accomplished. And so on, and so on. It helps stop all those crazy thoughts. Maybe you can get into "robot mode" yourself for the next 24 hours or so, and just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Good luck.
