weekenders 9 10 & 11th Aug 2013

Hi Y'all ,

It is the weekend . I like to get through them sober, it has become a habbit for me to do so .
For some of you out there it is not habbit yet , truely it can be difficult to change our habbits .

Newbies and returnies are welcome , If you need full on SR support then i'd urge you to make your own thread as sometimes crys for help can get lost in other threads .

Old hands are welcome and everyone inbetween , tell us what a sober weekend look and feels like , what you do , how you do it .

Right ! I've got the sober bike out , it's all shiney , it has some spakle tassles on the handles , it has a big bell , let's get this show on the road .

Lets cycle the road to happy destiny trying hard not to fall off or drive into the ditch , if we do we get back on , get back involved , put on a brave face , try and emulate, copy and learn from those who can do it and what they do .

*Ring Ring*

It's tourist season here, and I'll be working. But I'll find time for an AA meeting or two, and try to check in here also.

I'm in! Thanks for starting the thread this weekend for us, Mecanix!

I am actually thinking of taking a much needed day off tomorrow after a 60+ hour work week by Thursday. Thankfully, I have been sober long enough now to have regained the trust of the people I work with so when I say I am taking a "personal day," they don't immediately think, "ah, she's taking a 'let's get drunk and stay home day!!'"

Not sure what the weekend has in store other than a picnic on Sunday and a recipe for bacon jam that I have been dying to test out.

Other than that, I will be here. See you all later and happy start to the weekend to everyone

Sober weekend = Gym, family, outdoor biking, your favorite restaurant. I hope everyone else is going to have a great weekend!

Sober weekend here means lots of time with my grown daughter. She works overnights, long hours, but gets every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. She lives about 35 minutes away. Friday we are going to meet at a dog park with our dogs and then she is coming back to my house to hang out. She will probably nap when I go to my 8 o'clock meeting. Saturday she is coming back this way to attend a friend's graduation party and then spending the night at my house. I will attend a noon meeting on Saturday. Sunday we will celebrate her dog's first birthday with a special cake and hats for her dog and my two (I know we are crazy). Weather permitting we will sit out back by the pool with the dogs. Sunday night is another 8 o'clock meeting. Very excited for the weekend.

Ready.....

Set......

Stop!

Seems like that for me sometimes. But this weekend I have some dead time to navigate but feel good and strong.

Will be here to get my weekend help. Lend a hand if I can.

Off to work. Boss is out so bonus!

Thanks Mecanix for bringing up the "weekend". I barely got trough last night thanks to the little drinking party at my house (hubby and his friends) and I feel like this weekend will be even harder. The last time I had a sober weekend was at least 5 years ago because the weekend equals getting hammered right? Anyway, gonna take it one day at a time and gonna work on finding something to do this evening to keep my mind busy.

Hi weekenders, I'm here to share another successful sober weekend with you all and it sounds like a few of you are prepared with your plans.

I seem to be back on track and the desperate thoughts of wanting a drink for the last two weeks have disappeared. Last night I had a niggle 'wouldn't it be nice' but I easily stamped on that.

Ruby I'll be thinking of you this weekend, stay close to SR you can do this, it is going to be tough but wait till Monday comes and that feeling of survival is wonderful.

I was wondering where the weekend thread was! I looked everywhere, then suddenly it appeared!

Dog still recovering, so I am at home all weekend. But it looks like maybe, possibly, hopefully rain.....I love the rain!

I might leave the nest for a minute to go see the new Woody Allen movie.
I have a question about my pickles Weasel, can I pm you?

Happy weekend!!!!!

Hi all, I am here! Day 8 and ready for another sober weekend. Looking forward to waking up hangover free and spending the weekend with my hubby and 3 yr old. Think we are driving an hour to see some old friends tomorrow so that should take up most of the day. Sunday - probably church and swimming? Let's do this everyone!

Because I am unemployed, weekends are no different than weekdays for me. However, I did start out the weekend this morning by cleaning out the refrigerator and burning garbage. Tonight I am watching preseason football. GO GREEN BAY PACKERS!
