Hi,

I posted lots a few weeks/months back and thanks for all your replies.

I am off to Spain on holiday in 4 days. Back on 23rd August.

I have been to Drs and she has prescribed me the throwing up drug, I will start that on the 23rd Aug. I intend to take it for only 4 weeks as I need to do this on my own.

My friend is taking me to my first two meetings on the 23rd Aug. After that I am going of my own volition which I think is important.

I just thought I'd post as the more I confirm my plan the more it becomes a reality.

Hi, and welcome again. Glad you are seeing your doctor, but I gotta ask...what is the "throwing up" drug?

Sorry if I am naive, but I never heard this before.

Dollyangel, I think he is referring to Antabuse which makes you violently ill if you drink.

Having a plan for being out of town is the best thing we can do for ourselves. I'm going down to the Jersey Shore for the weekend to visit my cousin and I'm looking up meeting for the two days I'll be gone,as my sponsor says we have to put as much effort in our recovery as we did in our active addiction. Have a great time and watch that the nausea meds don't trigger anything for you,they did me only cause they relax you and I love the feeling of being relaxed..lol

Ooooo I hope they don't relax me in a narcotic way as I am drugs and alcohol but abstinent of drugs for years! I will google further but am a nurse so hopefully well informed!!!! You are all great as always! and I like the comment about putting as much into recovery as into the drinking!!! Good! J.

I think your plan would be more solid if you implemented it today. Sounds like you plan to drink while on holiday.

I have considered the start to day plan and it does not fit in my radar. I have my plan and am sticking to it!!! Recovery is a process and my process has set well in my head!
